Happiness is riding my pony

The children who ride at the SAMBER Group range in age from 3-11 and have a variety of disabilities, including cerebral palsy, hearing/visual impairment, autism and behavioural and learning difficulties. These weekly rides stimulate and motivate them, and improve their muscle strength and communication skills. Physical ailments are aided by the rhythmic and relaxing motion of the horse, which help to stack the spine correctly, whilst the mind receives mentally stimulating information from all the different senses, not to mention plenty of fresh air in the lungs.

Do you have a child who you feel would benefit from horse riding?

Unfortunately SAMBER is currently running at capacity and is only able to teach the children from the three local schools who attend.  Some RDA Groups in Surrey do take on new, individual riders – they may have a waiting list – but it’s definitely worth giving them a call!
